Year 6 Transition

We believe that a smooth, positive and exciting transition from Year 6 to Year 7 is crucial to the start of each child’s secondary education.  The transitionary year is one in which new friendships are fostered; academic progress is supported and each individual personality is recognised.  Our spirit of community is essential to the Year 7 experience being a happy and successful one and the aim of our transition process is for every student to move up to Newfield feeling excited, confident and cared for.

The main transition work starts in April when we visit our primary schools to meet our new students and start to get to know everyone.  We therefore organise a range of events to help prepare our students for this important transition.
